Gilfach Wen Barn is a large, practical self-catering holiday property designed for groups staying together in Carmarthenshire, South West Wales. The barn sleeps up to 32 people in seven family-sized bedrooms. There is ample shared space for everyone to eat, relax and spend time together.

Space for everyone to be together
Staying as a group has a clear benefit. You can spend time together without dividing between cottages or hotel rooms.
Space in the dining room lets the entire group sit together. The lounge offers a comfortable communal area for relaxing, chatting and playing games.
The self-catering kitchen can accommodate larger groups. It supports cooking from scratch, a simple buffet, or barbecue prep.

Seven family-sized bedrooms
Gilfach Wen Barn has seven bedrooms. The bedrooms include a mix of double and single beds. This provides group organisers flexibility when deciding who sleeps where.
Rather than expecting you to work this out after you arrive, you can look at the bedrooms beforehand and use the information to plan your room allocation.
Two travel cots and two high chairs are also available free of charge.

Bathrooms and accessibility
The Barn has several bathrooms and shower facilities so that a large group does not have to rely on one or two bathrooms.
We have also tried to make the Barn practical for groups which include someone with limited mobility or a wheelchair user. There is level access from the car park, a downstairs bedroom and accessible washing facilities.

Outdoor space
Your group can use an outdoor space during your stay, which features a garden fire pit, an undercover barbecue area and on request a field for games.
There is also a fenced area for dogs.
Gilfach Wen Barn is in the countryside on a working sheep farm, so the outdoor space is not the same as the enclosed grounds of a conventional holiday cottage. You must keep dogs on a lead whenever they are outside the building, except when using the designated fenced dog area.

Staying on a working farm
Gilfach Wen Barn is part of a working sheep farm. You may see farm vehicles, livestock and normal farming activity during your stay.
The farm itself is not an attraction or an area where guests can wander freely, but the Barn makes a useful base for enjoying the surrounding countryside, Brechfa Forest and Llanllwni Mountain.
There are walks from the farm, and I can help group organisers find routes and activities suited to the interests and abilities of their group.

Practical facilities for an active group holiday
Gilfach Wen Barn is intended to be practical rather than formal.
There is a drying room for wet outdoor clothing and equipment, level parking close to the building and plenty of space for groups arriving with walking boots, bikes and outdoor kit.
Heating, electricity, showers and logs for the fire and outdoor fire pit are included, so there is no need for the organiser to divide up additional utility costs during the stay.
