Uniting the whole extended family for a holiday or weekend break in the same place can often be a difficult task. Even if a family member has a house large enough to accommodate everyone. It can be a huge burden on the host preparing for the gathering, catering, and then cleaning up when everyone has gone home. At present Government Guidance in response to Covid – 19 limits the number of members of a family who can form a “bubble” and meet in each others homes. However the Welsh Government guidance does not set any limits on the number of members of a family who can book into the same tourist accommodation at the same time.
Hiring a number of holiday cottages or static caravans on the same site brings problems. The kitchens, lounges and dining areas of each unit will only be large enough to accommodate as many people as each property can sleep.
Presently the Welsh Government require hotels and B&B’s to close their dining rooms and provide room service only. While pubs and and restaurants are limited to take away services only.
Hiring Gilfach Wen Barn makes it easy for multi generational and extended families to meet up together. The kitchen is large enough to cater for everyone at the same time. The dining room is large enough for you to all eat together. While the large lounge means you can catch up everyone’s news in comfort.
The range of bedrooms provides flexibility. A downstairs bedroom and shower room designed for wheelchair users is helpful if any member of the group have limited mobility. There are two travel cots and two high chairs available.
As well as the garden there is a field for games.
Some groups who haven’t see each other for some time prefer to spend their days just catching up on each others news. Others appreciate the wide range of visitor attractions in South West Wales. Some groups like to plan to spend their days together. Other groups head off to different attractions depending on their interests and then join together in an evening. In the ToDo section I have covered Just some of the popular free and local attractions. I am a tourism ambassador for both Carmarthenshire and the Brecon Beacons National Park, as well as the chairman of the local tourism organisation. I would be happy to help you plan your stay.
