A very simple pricing structure applies, with the best rates only available for people booking direct.   Gilfach Wen Barn is a bunkhouse,   so the normal booking is for exclusive use by a group,   but mid week during term times and last minute bookings at weekends can be made on a per room or per person basis.


Exclusive use for a group of upto 16 people is  from £450 per night (except  for short stays in the school holidays and New Year)      Additional people in the group upto a total of 32 are from £19 per additional person per night.

The showers, central heating, electricity even a supply of logs for the fire and fire pit are all included in the price. Most of the rooms are large enough to also fit a travelling cot in, two travelling cots and a high chair are available free of charge.

Except for last minute bookings minimum of 2 nights.  (if you are a group looking for a last minute one night stay please use the contact me form or phone me to make the booking.   The booking system is set to the normal minimum 2 night stay.)

New Year is a minimum of 3 nights stay.


Bookings by individuals or small groups, only available either midweek during term time or as a last minute booking. 


Bed in bunk room For those looking for budget accommodation  a bedspace in the bedrooms containing bunkbeds can be booked via the booking system for £25 per night,  minimum 2 night stay.    Please remember that you may be sharing the bedroom with other guests.


Private bedroom The 3 smaller bedrooms  (bedroom 5 has a double and 2 singles,  bedroom 6 has a double bed,  and bedroom 7 has a double and a single)  can be booked for exclusive use by an individual,  couple or family.    The booking system allows you to select between the options of the number of adults and children in the party for each room with discounts for under occupancy.  Minimum 2 night stay.


How to Book

Please use the on line reservation to check availability and book,    or you can  use the contact us form to provide your name,  address,  email address, telephone number,  dates you would like to book,  and size of the group and ask me to enter the booking into the booking system .

Once I have checked the details I will send you an email with a confirmation of the details of the booking,  cancellation policies and a request for the deposit.

Booking indicates acceptance of conditions of use.

A deposit of 20% of the total fee is required to confirm the booking, with the balance of the total fee due one month before the arrival date. For bookings made less than one month before the arrival date the full payment is required on booking.

I reserve the right to cancel any bookings when the balance has not been paid when due.

Payment can be made by cheque or bank transfer.

If guests wish to cancel their booking I will readvertise the dates available and if a replacement booking is obtained the payment for the booking will be refunded  (less an administration fee).

I recommend that guests ensure their travel insurance covers their loss in case they need to cancel a booking for any reason.
